TRUKD Launches Pop Out Shower Awning to Give Overlanders More Privacy and Much-Needed Access

September 17, 2026

HUNKER, Pa. — Sept. 18, 2026 — TRUKD, the Pennsylvania-based innovator behind modular truck bed rack systems and overland-ready accessories, today announced the launch of its Pop Out Shower Awning, designed to solve a common limitation of traditional vehicle-mounted shower enclosures: limited access to vehicle doors, storage and gear while the enclosure is deployed.

The Pop Out Shower Awning uses a proprietary, fully boxed aluminum structure and gas-strut- assisted arm that extends directly from the vehicle, providing 12 inches of much-needed additional clearance beyond what traditional shower awnings offer. The result is a more spacious enclosure with greater privacy while preserving access to the vehicle and gear.

“TRUKD engineered the Pop Out to solve a problem the category has ignored: forcing users to choose between privacy and access to their gear,” said Ben Azzam, President of TRUKD. “The Pop Out gives overlanders more usable space without making the vehicle less accessible and reflects TRUKD's broader mission to make truck-based outdoor living more functional.”

Built for Strength, Stability and Access

Designed for overlanders and off-grid campers who need extra room in their shower awning systems, TRUKD’s Pop Out model combines a rigid aluminum structure with hardware designed for repeated deployment in demanding outdoor environments.

Key features include:

Pop-out design for total gear and door access while the shower enclosure is deployed

     Gas-strut assisted, effortless deployment

Fully boxed aluminum construction, maximum rigidity, minimum weight

⅜-inch, full-length stainless steel hinge pin with a lifetime warranty

Locking plunger pin keeps the arm securely closed while traveling

Durable textured black powder coat finish

Universal fit for most standard awning mounts and shower awnings

     Backed by TRUKD's engineering-led, lifetime-warranty product philosophy

Reengineering the Traditional Shower Awning

The Pop Out Shower Awning was developed in response to a fundamental limitation in conventional shower enclosure designs: users are often positioned directly against the side of their vehicle, making it difficult to open doors, reach storage, or access equipment while the enclosure is in use.

“The Pop Out Shower Awning design concept is a structural rethink of a product category that hasn’t changed much,” Azzam said. “Traditional shower enclosures keep users tight against the vehicle, often limiting access to doors, storage and gear, an issue the additional foot of space the Pop Out Shower Awning eliminates.”

Addressing a Growing Demand

TRUKD’s launch comes as the overlanding market continues to grow, shifting from a niche pursuit to a mainstream outdoor activity, and dovetails with the company’s target audience of overland travelers and off-grid campers who already run shower/awning setups and desire a more functional, durable solution.

Industry research from Overland Expo's 2025 Overland Industry Report states U.S. overlanding participation includes about 12 million people in 2025, up from 8 million in 2024, with intermediate overlanders (those with one to five years of experience), now comprising the market's core and its heaviest spenders on gear and vehicle upgrades.

Availability

The TRUKD Pop Out Shower Awning is priced at $549 and will begin shipping early in Q4 2026. For more information, visit gettrukd.com.

HUNKER, Pa. — August 31, 2026 — TRUKD , the Pennsylvania-based innovator behind modular truck bed rack systems and overland-ready accessories, is taking its highly anticipated TRUKD Bed Cap one step closer to the finish line. After first unveiling the concept prototype at Overland Expo West, TRUKD returned to Overland Expo Mountain West in Loveland, Colorado, August 21–23, with its most advanced version yet: a refined, near-production prototype that gives attendees the closest look yet at what’s coming to market. After years of demand from TRUKD customers and overland enthusiasts, the new modular Bed Cap system expands the company’s popular A-Series rack platform into a fully enclosed, weather-sealed truck bed solution designed for adventure, utility and everyday functionality. Built on the proven strength of the TRUKD A-Series framework, the new Bed Cap combines rugged durability with modular flexibility, allowing truck owners to evolve their setup over time without sacrificing capability or style. “TRUKD fans have been asking for a cap solution for a long time, and we wanted to build something that stayed true to our modular philosophy,” said Ben Azzam, founder and engineer at TRUKD. “This isn’t just another truck topper — it’s an extension of the TRUKD ecosystem designed for people who actually use their trucks for work, travel and adventure.” Key features of the TRUKD Bed Cap include: ● Integrated A-Series rack framework with a 400-pound dynamic and 1,000-pound static load rating ● Gull-wing side access doors for fast gear access ● Tinted rear Plexiglass hatch and cab enclosure ● Accessory-compatible side panels for mounting fuel, tools, recovery gear, and accessories ● Lightweight stainless steel and aluminum construction ● Fully modular design that allows customers to start with an A-Series rack and expand into a complete cap system over time. Every TRUKD Bed Cap is engineered and manufactured in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, using 304 stainless steel uprights, aluminum crossbars and lightweight aluminum enclosure panels to create a strong, durable system built for long-term reliability. Attendees at Overland Expo Mountain West 2026 are among the first to see the prototype in person and reserve their unit. TRUKD will officially begin accepting deposits at the event, with production units expected to begin shipping in fall 2026. The reveal marks one of TRUKD’s biggest product launches to date and reinforces the company’s commitment to building modular truck systems that adapt to the needs of overlanders, contractors, outdoor enthusiasts and truck owners alike.
